Crazy Hair Day

This week has been Red Ribbon Week. Each day of the week has a theme and all of the staff and students are encouraged to dress according to the theme of the day.

Monday: Wear red from head to toe (I forgot and wore blue I think)
Tuesday: Lei off drugs, everyone wears a lei (We gave our kids leis and that lasted about two minutes, so just the teachers wore them)
Wednesday: Use your head don't do drugs, Crazy Hair day (I did it, but I am not sure about posting the pics.)
Thursday: It's no sweat to be drug free, everyone wears sweats ( No one did this one because it was like 85 today)
Friday: No theme, it's Halloween.
Today was a great day. The kids were wonderful and we had so much fun at the end of the day during story time. The students have been acting out a book called, The Little Old Lady Who is Not Afraid of Anything. Tomorrow a lot of the parents are going to come and observe our class, so we are going to have the kids act out the story for the parents as a little play, of sorts.
LOL those are Caleb's shoes. I hope he hasn't been looking for them.

Laura Berrier knows how to take some amazing pictures. That's all I am going to say. Visit her blogspot page at the link above. Believe me you will be impressed.

Day 2

Yesterday morning (at 6am) Caleb left our happy home to head off to Portland Oregon. He has some CEU to complete and there happened to be a seminar in Oregon that counts for 19 of the 25 units he needs.
So ever since yesterday morning I have been on my own. Last night I took myself out on a date. I went to Chili's and then to Barnes and Noble for coffee and free reading. Today I had grand plans that began at 7:30am. The only problem was the rest of my body did not want to go along with these plans until about 9. At 9 I got up, walked Whoot to Starbucks, had a nice relaxing morning and now I am bored out of my mind. I know I could call someone up and find something to do, but I really really wanted to have the house completely clean before Caleb gets home. (that includes our bedroom) So instead of going somewhere I am home convincing myself that I need to get our house together. Especially after last week. It seems like everyday last week there was some sort of crisis and we are so behind on laundry (but that's always our problem). I have never been more grateful for the end of a work week.
On the way to the airport at 5 in the morning I was thinking about the perks of marriage. The one that stood out the most to me at the time is, you always have a chauffeur at any hour of the day and you don't even have to tip them! Of course Caleb need not pay me because his love is worth a thousand sparkling heart shaped rubies in various sizes masterfully placed on the crest of a grassy semi snow covered hill during a winter sunset in Ireland.
He'll be home tomorrow. Thankfully.

What a Day

Today was a hectic day. The kids were just a mess. Not too many new things happened. Just the usual biting, hitting, running around like their head is on fire. Spittoon Boy urinated in the grass again, but this time the teacher caught him yanked up his pants and made him finish in the bathroom. Lucky for him he was about done when she came by. LOL she had to take such drastic measures because a whole room of 5th graders were watching. We were laughing about it as one of the aides mentioned how the 5th graders will look back someday and say , "Remember that one day when that kid peed in the grass?" Spittoon boy is beginning to influence the other boys . At our last recess I happened to catch a little boy urinating on a pole! I am not sure what we can do about this problem, but something must be done.
Lastly, my front tire blew out on the way home from work. What a bummer. Caleb was out in Riverside and had an appointment with our accountant so he just told me to call my Mother. LOL I think next time I will just call her first. My Mom has triple A and so she had a tow truck guy (whatever they are called) come out to change the tire. The problem was, the guy could not get one of the luge nuts off, so we had him tow the car to my house so my Dad could fix it. Unfortunately, my Dad is still napping so I am not sure if I will have a car tomorrow or not.
On the bright side: someone actually stopped and tried to help me change the tire. Isn't that nice?

Fifth times the charm

My car seems to be working now. My Dad made me start it up five times in a row before he approved it as road ready. LOL. All I know is it got Whoot and I to Starbucks and back. I am not sure what is going to happen with the whole "MEGA bass" thing. I may just drive around without a radio for a while. Beyond all that, I am soooo bored. I have an interview today for sub preschool teacher at 3pm. I had applied for the position a long time ago and just got a call back last week. I like where I work now, but preschool is my thing. If they offer me enough I may switch. I am also taking Poor Joey in to be groomed. He looks so bad it really is embarrassing. Whoot has taken to dragging him around by the tail again. It was bleeding the other day. I am not too sure what to do about that situation. It's not like we catch Whoot doing it every time. We just see the end result.
My Dad said this to me while we worked on the car: " Your are just like your Mother, you never listen to me. I need a new woman, a young one, you know, like, 52 or so."
LOL, you know you are up there in age when 52 is a young chic.

Getting better

My Dad and I have been working on my car for about half an hour. I added some liquid to the battery, as it was a little low. We found out that there is a mega bass cable the connects from the stereo system directly to the car battery. It is currently suspect of slowly draining my battery because it never turns off. As long as the cable is connected to the battery it is collecting power so that when I want to rattle the teeth of my passengers with MEGA bass I can. We disconnected the cable and taped it up so that it is not dangling from the engine area. (I'd hate to somehow run it over and pull out my whole engine or something ridiculous) The cable situation will be left for further review on another day. Thankfully my Dad has a battery charger left over from his days of fixing my family's cars. So we are trying to charge the battery. I really hope we have solved this problem. We shall see.

ahh

I am so upset!!!!! my dumb car will not start. something about the wind makes the battery die to like half the power! I am really stressing about this because I missed two days when I was sick and now today, and will miss two more days for WCC. I don't know, this is just a random rant and vent of frustration.

We will have a sub teacher on Friday.

Today was quite a day. It was the kind of day where you just had to be there to know.

Although one of the aides did get punched in the face by a little girl. The aide was mimicking how the girl sounded as she screamed and cried. NOTE: When mocking an angry child, always stand at least an arms length away. Beyond that, we have all come to the conclusion that we are herding cats. There is always at least one child who will refuse to go with the flow. The boys have gotten into "play" fighting and suddenly become deaf when we call out to them. We call it play fighting so that we don't have to break it up every time. LOL as long as no one cries I don't see anything. (I'm kinda kidding) We have made some progress with some of the students. Two of the boys that did not talk at all are now communicating with short sentences. Of course the boys have always been able to speak in these short sentences, we have just now been able to bring it out of them at school. We found out that at home one of the boys can say his alphabet forwards and backwards. At school he doesn't even talk, he just spits.
I got paid today! I think I am short one day, but I'm not sure. I'm just going to let it go this time. I am just happy to have some extra money. Maybe I will use it to by some cowboy boots with spurs on the back.

The cast of characters

Count Chocula started it all, then there was Spidy with his web slinging action, and now there is Spittoon Boy.

Spittoon boy can project his spit about two to three feet ahead of him. He expectorates about once every twenty minutes on average. I'm not talking about just saliva, it's chunky. This is one kid I have not gotten used to. Every time he spits I want to throw up. Just thinking about it is making me queasy.

Now that Spittoon boy has been introduced let me share a story. Yesterday was S.B.'s first day back to school after a two week absence. Of course we all hoped that he would not start his spitting habit, but it was back and in full force. During recess S.B. was hanging out in front of the classroom and had spit on the concrete at least three times. We made him clean it up, and than sent him to go play somewhere else. About ten minutes after S.B. was gone I happened to look up and see three boys crowding around him. He was standing on the concrete at the edge of a grassy area. Once my eyes really began to communicate with my brain I realized that S.B.'s little tush was exposed because he had pulled down his pants. I walked over to break up the crowd only to find that S.B. has decided he really needed to use the restroom and the grass was the best place to do it. He is literally standing there urinating and there is nothing I can do about it. Really, what can you do? it's not like I can make him stop. To top it off he went for a LONG time.( I know this story is SO tacky but it is really for my father in law; I just think he would enjoy it.) After S.B. was done I pulled up his pants, scolded him, and sent him to time out. Which means he was sent to go sit in front of the classroom. I guess he won that one.

Good Morning From Fresno CA

Yesterday evening Jaleah, Laura, Celeste and I arrived in Fresno. I convinced the said parties to come with me to Fresno's Ladies Day. We are all free this weekend because Rialto is having it's Men's Day today as well. So it was either stay home and serve food for Men's Day or take a road trip. Thus far it has been nice to spend time with Jaleah and gab about anything that comes to our mind. I can say that in the 4 1/2 hours it took us to get here, there were very few moments of complete silence. Celeste talks a lot. j/k
