Nothing New

I haven't posted in a while because there really is nothing to post about. This week has been filled with times of cleaning my house and eating way too much. Yesterday was my last official "free" day. Now I have to start walking off some pounds in order to get ready for Christmas. Gotta love the holidays.
I did go to work one day this week. I was awakened at 5AM on Tuesday when the Sub Desk's automated calling system gave me a ring. I was a little irritated at first and then I realized I was wide awake and had no chance of going back to sleep. I laid in bed awhile and then decided I should take the job, so I did. Boy, was it BORING. No spit slaps, nose picking, not even a good cussing out. LOL. Honestly, I would rather work with my wild bunch any day, at least they have personality.
Thanksgiving was nice. Tons and tons of people this year. I think we are all on the same "holiday sharing" schedule, which is good. Caleb ate a pie and a half. LOL, this is how weird my husband is: he weighed himself right before we went over to my Mom's for Thanksgiving (which was about 1pm) then he weighed himself when we got back home (about 11pm), he gained SEVEN POUNDS! Is that sick or what? I think he is trying to get a job as Santa at the mall or something.

pics.

After a couple of hours of climbing buildings, laying in the grass, and trudging through downtown Riverside in high heels, our mission to take some type of portrait together has been completed.
Of course I am totally over exaggerating. We had fun last Saturday afternoon working with Laura as best we could. We (we, being Caleb) sort of lost it at the end and I am very interested to see how the last 10 shots look LOL. But all we need is one good one right.

Knowledge makes your smarter?

A few things I have learned, thanks to my special students.

1. Never hold a child's hand. I always hold the kids by the wrist because I know where that hand has been.
2. Never leave an angry child alone in the bathroom for too long. Believe me they have ways of getting you back.
3. Teaching very small children to say very big words can bring a tremendous amount of laughter to your day. (Eucalyptus)
4. You have to be special to work in special ed.
5. I can open ketchup and ranch packets like nobodies business.
6. Just because it is funny doesn't mean it's OK. (yesterday a little boy came busting out of the bathroom with just his shorts on and his t-shirt in his hand. We looked at him and he started dancing, swinging his shirt in the air, and shaking his hips. I was the one that had to pretend to be upset because the other teachers were busy hiding their laughter.)
7. Snot will not kill you, but it can ruin your lunch.
8. You can't fight every bad behaviour, just the ones that might leave marks.
9. Don't take everything so serious. It's OK to like your job and your coworkers.
10. Lastly, kiss up to the teacher and you will get to have a longer lunch LOL kidding.

My First Christmas Town

As previously stated, Christmas has come to the Dillon's like three weeks early. Tonight I just finished setting up a winter village town that Nana gave Caleb and I (Me?). I still need to add some fluffy snow stuff and buy light bulbs for the houses, but other then that I am done. I am so excited to have my own Christmas town. My Mom has always had one so it is really special to be able to recreate one of my family traditions using things that were given to my by Caleb's family. Thanks a bunch Nana.

Hailey is spreading rumors.

I haven't posted about my beloved Hailey Brooke in a long time. Mostly because I don't get to spend as much time with her anymore. She is still my "best buddy forever" and when I do see her she is just so sweet. Hailey is getting close to being four and is right at that stage where you should watch what you say around her because she is likely to spread the news. Yesterday I went to my Mom's house and Hailey was there. I talked with my Mom for a while and then Hailey and I left and went back to my house. On the way to my house we were talking about different things. I told Hailey I needed to put my Christmas stuff away and she said she would help me clean and when she was all done my house would be sooo shiny (Cute I know). So we get inside my house and straighten up a bit. Afterwards, I showed her some Disney Princess sites on the computer. While going to different sites an advertisement popped up. I don't know what it was for but, there was picture of a lady holding a baby. So being the weird Auntie that I am, I asked Hailey if she wanted Auntie to have a baby. I really wanted her to be jealous and say no lol, but she said yes and went into a long story about how it is going to come out of my stomach and she is going to rock it to sleep and lay it on the couch. Then she looks at me and asks "Are you getting a baby Auntie?" to this I reply no not yet. So anyways the day goes on and the evening came. At about 10PM I went over to my Mom's house to visit with family. At 11PM the phone rang and it was my sister (Hailey's Mom) so I answered it. She says, " Is this Auntie?" I said, "no your Auntie this is Sarrah." She laughs and begins to tell me a very interesting story. Apparently Hailey was sitting with her Dad at the table just drawing away. Out of nowhere she looks up and whispers to her Dad, "My Auntie's having a baby" and then just keeps on drawing. LOL her Dad freaks and tells her Mom, who calls me because she said she thought Hailey was prophesying LOL. I told her about our previous conversation, but I think she is still convinced her little angel had been used of God.

Yesterday my sister walks into my Mom's house and my Dad asks if she had cut her hair. She said no. Hailey pipes up and says, " No Mama didn't cut her hair, the lady did!" HAHA how classic is that.

WCC and LIFE

West Coast was a great time of Food, Food, and more Food. I am officially on a diet because I think I gained like three pounds in just five days. (Sundaes at 11PM didn't help I'm sure)
I am also on a quest for the perfect jean skirt. I was thinking something darker, I wanted to wear dark denim and dark chocolate brown for our Christmas pics. Which, by the way, I am so nervous about. Caleb and I haven't taken pics since our wedding, and I usually end up with way dark circles under my eyes. So any tips on picture taking or jean skirt finding are appreciated.
Beyond that, life is going smoothly. I am working and Caleb is making good money like the old days, gas is almost down to 1.99. I did just find out I am hostessing for our ladies progressive. It's in like three weeks and I was told to go way out on presentation. (and if Kim says way out, that means she wants a reindeer petting zoo) AHHH! I am going to get all my Christmas stuff out today and see what I have. Poor Caleb, we had Thanksgiving in September and now Christmas in November. What have we become a department store?
In other nonsense. I need to post more pics of stuff. My blog has just become a bunch of words. I like the books with all pictures and no words better, don't you?

Eight year olds and I think alike

I have a very small foot. My shoe size is 5 1/2, 6 if it's flats. I have been known at times to shop in the children's section for flats or work shoes, as I have found that children's flats have much more support. Be all that as it may, one of my most prized purchases from the children's section are a pair of riding boots I bought about two years ago. They were an emergency buy, I needed them for a trip to San Francisco. Seeing as we went in February I needed something comfortable and warm. Thus the boots. These boots have served me well, I have grown fond of them and tho they are beginning to wear down, I still love them. This evening Caleb and I were walking around a mall in Victorville. I noticed to my right a little girl wearing and velvet leopard print jogging suit. The girl kept looking at me as if observing something about me. When our paths came to a place of crossing the little girl leaned in and said " I like your boots!", and kept walking. I said thank you and laughed a little. Then I noticed that she had on the same pair! This girl was like eight, maybe ten. I told Caleb I wasn't sure if it could except that I had the same taste in shoes as an eight year old wearing a leopard print from head to toe.

Best Ever: The day I allow myself to act like myself; spoiled.

This past week was the best Birthday Week ever. Yes, that's right birthday WEEK. Those who know me well know that I take my B-days very seriously. It's like a non-religious Christmas or something. So everyday Caleb did something sweet for me (I didn't make him, but it was implied that I would greatly appreciate any and all efforts). THe highlight of the week was when he hired my niece Valerie to come over and clean our whole house. It was nice to come home from work and see everything where it should be. :)
Caleb and I went out to Black Angus on Saturday. We had a four course meal that ended with an awesome mile high chocolate cake. The cake was so big and it came with ice cream and a little jar of hot fudge. So Good. Caleb also gave me my official birthday gift on sat. I must say he really tricked me with it. All week long he had been complaining how he didn't think I would like my gift. And all week long I reassured him that he is the best gift giver. So, Saturday came and he brought my gift to me right before we went out. It was a pink robe and some matching slippers. NoW, remembering that I am very serious about my b-days, I was in shock. A Robe? Come on. I tried to be gracious about it but it was obvious I was not too thrilled. Caleb just kept telling me to try it on, and then I would see how comfy it is and I would love it. So I finally tried the robe on, the only problem was it was really heavy on one side. (I am a little slow sometimes) So I felt around to see what the problem was and that's when I discovered I had been had. In the right side pocket of my robe was a really nice watch (I have been begging for a watch for like a year). I don't even want to know what my face looked like. I felt like a big ol' dork and a little embarrassed. Caleb just laughed and laughed and said he couldn't believe how ungrateful I was. LOL
On Sunday we when out with some friends to MiMi's. I got a free slice of chocolate cream pie and shared a little of it. Today the ladies I work with bought me lunch and gave me a 15 dollar Starbucks gift card. That was so nice and totally unexpected. But alas all good things must come to an end. So the conclusion of Birthday Week 2008 is coming quickly.
Maybe My wonderful father in the law will take me to Breakfast or something. That would be very kind, you know all things considered.
