Turkey off

I didn't take pics. But yesterday Caleb and I had a turkey cook off.
My turkey was roasted in the oven for about three hours. Basted every 20mins and filled with fresh thyme, rosemary, sage, and lemon. I stuffed flavored butter under the skin and roasted it on a bed of carrots, celery and onion.
It came out sooooo juicy and tasty. lol my brother David said it tasted like chicken which is funny because I said the same thing before I let anyone else taste it.
Caleb grilled his turkey in the BBQ. It took about four hours. He seasoned his by injecting it with Cajun butter and then covering it with seasoning salt. I must say at first we thought it was going to be very dry, but it was actually rather tender and very very tasty. The skin was yummy.
All in all I think it was a tie. The turkeys were very different and it was almost like comparing apples to oranges. Mine had a more gourmet taste and Caleb's was kinda a "down home" flavor (whatever that means). Both recipes were really easy and I must say we did a pretty good job for our first ever turkeys.

Yummmm! You are being passed the baton -- this generation will retire and you all can treat us!

Glad it turned out so well!
