Im gonna tell you a secret

I have been wanting to share this for a couple of days and really I probably shouldn't cause it is not a final decision, just something Caleb and I have talked about, but I am starting to feel really good about it (in a mixed emotion kinda way). We have two boys, but Caleb really wants a girl. The problem is, you can't guarantee a girl, and I am not too sure I want to bare another child. So we (being I, Caleb is cool with it, but I am cooler) are thinking about maybe possibly adopting a girl when the time is right. What do you think? of course adoption is a great thing to do, but it comes with a lot of risks. And I am not sure how it would all work out. So I am nervous at the thought, but also it seems like it makes sense. We want a girl, there are babies out there that need a home, I was adopted and turned out ok, so why not? I just think it would be easy if someone just walked up and gave us a beautiful healthy girl and walked away. Even then I would have to one day have the conversation with my daughter about where she came from and how it feels to not know what the people who made you look like. BUT I guess the benefit to being adopted is I do know and understand a lot of the emotional complexities that an adopted child goes through. So having rambled along, I am going to start praying about this option for our future and see what God thinks about it. If He is good with it, He will open the doors that need to be opened and life will move along. If not, than I dont know, we will have to pray about that too :)

Well, I agree with you being adopted at least...

My husband's sister has 2 boys that she gave birth to and 2 girls they adopted from Russia. There were definite challenges, especially when they first brought them home, but they're one big, happy, crazy, noisy family now! Crazy thing is, they all look alike!
