I choose life.

Two months shy of my 16th birthday, I chose to live a life that didn't offer me instant gratification. The life I chose left me as the odd one out in a public high school. I never attended one dance or party. I stayed home while my friends attended our senior prom. I never had a boy friend. I wasn't invited to hang out and have a beer or get high. The life I chose kept me from every addiction. The life I chose kept me from drugs and alcohol.  Instead of showing up at school with a hang over, I relived sweet memories of a Holy Ghost filled alter service. The life I chose taught me self respect. The life I chose gave me elders who prayed for me and guided me through my teenage years.  The life I chose gave me a God of all comfort who has helped me see the light at the end of even the darkest tunnel. I have been given life because one day I chose life. I chose to live for God and put all worldly things aside. It is because of that decision that God has blessed me and kept me. I have seen the day when I thought the sun would not shine again. I have cried many tears from sorrow and pain, but through it all my God has never left me nor forsaken me. 14 years ago I put my trust in Jesus, and 14 years later I can honestly say He has never let me down.
